Europa-Park Welcomes Delegation from Shanghai Disney Resort

(eap) A delegation from the Shanghai Shendi Group, majority owner of the Shanghai Disney Resort, which opened in 2016, recently visited Germany’s Europa-Park Resort. The six-member group of experts led by Yang Jinsong, Chairman of the Board of the Chinese group of companies, met with Europa-Park owner Roland Mack for an interesting exchange. The meeting focused on current challenges, trends and future opportunities in the international theme park and attractions industry. Both sides appreciated the respectful dialogue, which provided valuable insights and new perspectives. Of course, the guests from the Far East were also able to try out the numerous attractions at Europa-Park.
The world’s first Stryker Coaster “Voltron Nevera – powered by Rimac” (from Mack Rides) was recently added to the attractions line-up at Germany’s largest amusement park in its new Croatia area (c.f. our cover story in EAP 3/2024). Construction work is currently underway on the third themed hotel at Shanghai Disney Resort, which will add some 400 rooms to the existing accommodation offering. The new “Zootopia” themed area based on the Disney animated film of the same name also opened at the end of last year (c.f. EAP news from 6 Sept 2023). ■
