(eap) This past weekend, the French Parc Astérix theme park officially received the “FKF Award” presented by the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks e.V. (FKF) for its “Toutatis” multiple launch-coaster. The more than 1,800 active members (from already nine countries) of the association registered in Germany voted the ride from manufacturer Intamin as their favorite in the “Parks” category for its varied and dynamic layout with a total of four launches. Embedded in the surrounding “Festival Toutatis” theme area, which is particularly elaborate and rich in detail, the new ride from 2023 is thrilling amusement park enthusiasts throughout France and beyond (read all about Festival Toutatis at Parc Astérix in the cover story of our EAP issue 3/2023).

In addition to Toutatis at Parc Astérix, this year the very first winter season “Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas” at Movie Park Germany and the “Excalibur” fairground attraction (a giant swing from KMG Rides) operated by German showman Harry P. E. Bruch were honored with an FKF Award. ■
