FKF Award Winners 2025 Announced
(eap) The winners of the FKF Award 2025 were announced at this year’s FKF Convention at Wunderland Kalkar, which took place this weekend. Since 2003, Germany’s Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks e. V. (FKF) has been awarding this prize to outstanding European theme park and funfair novelties from the previous year.
For the first time, there were two winners in the “Rollercoaster” category. The association’s internal voting determined two favourites, both of which received exactly the same number of points. One of these was the Suspended Coaster “Na Fianna Force” (Vekoma) in the “Tír Na nÓg” themed area at Emerald Park in Ireland. The other first place went to the Bobsled Coaster “Ziegelblitz” (Gerstlauer) at Jaderpark in Lower Saxony (read more about both coasters in EAP 4/2024).
Efteling’s “Danse Macabre” won the “Park Novelty” category. The world’s first Dynamic Motion Stage ride system from Intamin and the detailed design won over amusement park fans. The first attraction of the “Speed 32” type from Dutch manufacturer KMG in “German hands” celebrated its premiere on March 22, 2024 at Hamburger Dom. ■
