Final Judgment Confirms Take Over of Walygator Parc
As confirmed by the final judgment of the court of Metz last week, the French amusement park Walygator in Lorraine has been taken over by the entrepreneur Jacqueline Lejeune as CEO and her partners (cp. EAP news from 27 March 2013). According to a press release of the park, these include Franck Degelin, responsible for the gastro department as well as François Jérôme Parent, operations manager of the park. After the park had already been transferred to the new operators, the existing operators, the brothers Claude and Didier Le Douarin, filed an appeal. Now the park, which was founded under the name of “BigBang Schroumpf” in 1989, will be overhauled by the new operators. All the attractions which were only leased by the park so far have been acquired for an investment volume of 1.2 million Euros. An additional sum of 700,000 Euros is planned to be invested in the overhauling and remodeling of the existing attractions. The reopening of the park is scheduled for 1 June 2013 with 380,000 visitors expected to come to the park in 2013. (eap)
