Finland: New Thrill Ride Opened at Särkänniemi Adventure Park

This summer saw the opening of a new thrill ride at Tampere, Finland’s Särkänniemi Adventure Park. “X“ is the name of the new ride that primarily aims to attract teenagers and thrill seekers.

Supplied by Italian company Zamperla, the Discovery Revolution ride accommodates up to 30 passengers in its gondola, with the seats being arranged in a circle. After the start, the gondola begins to rotate, with the passengers facing outwards. At the same time, the ride’s arm swings like a pendulum to reach its highest point at 30 meters. Eventually the gondola swings fully through 360 degrees. The maximum speed is 80km/h and acceleration can reach 4.7g.

Riders must be at least 140 cm to be able to experience the park’s new 3-minute adventure. (eap)
