Finland: New Triple Launch Coaster „Hype“ Now Open at Särkänniemi

This past March, Finland’s Särkänniemi Theme Park had announced to build a triple launch coaster as its largest investment into a new attraction until to date (cf. EAP, 2/17). Recently, the new coaster named “Hype” has been opened, attracting lots of visitors to the park, seeking to try out this new signature ride. Delivered by US manufacturer Premier Rides, the coaster features three launch sections: first, the riders are shot out of the station up to a height of 15 meters, before they plummet rapidly back into the station where they are launched backwards up to a height of 30 meters.

Then, the train passes the station a third time where the final launch is energized and the riders shoot up a vertical twisting track to the highest point of the ride at some 50 meters. Furthermore, “Hype” includes a slow roll, a face-first vertical drop section and a twisting loop. Thanks to the innovative magnet technology, guests can enjoy a smooth ride experience.
