Finland: Valo Motion Launches New Climbing Game For Groups

“Hullaballon“ is the new climbing game solution for groups developed by Finland-based Valo Motion. The group game which can be played by one to four players is an addition to the existing gaming portfolio for the “ValoClimb^®“ climbing walls – gaming content is projected onto the ValoClimb surface via AR technology (cf. EAP 3/2019). To precisely track the player’s movement and poses, Valo Motion improved its “ValoVision“ body tracking software, so that the game recognises each player and keeps score of their individual points.

The player’s goal is to pop more balloons than the other player. Hullaballon focuses on simplicity and is suitable for beginners as well as advanced climbers. Players will be able to exit and enter the game at any point of the game. Additionally, a special birthday mode is included.

“Since birthday parties are a big part of our customers' business, we wanted to make sure that our customers can offer memorable and unique experiences to their visitors. The birthday mode is a short festive and party-themed version of the normal game mode, which our customers can enable for special occasions,” explains Antti Sandberg, the lead developer of Hullaballon.
