(eap) Dutch rollercoaster manufacturer Vekoma Rides has successfully completed the first construction phase of its new “Vekoma Campus”. The first employees were welcomed to the new premises at the end of January. Thanks to a warehouse with modern equipment, an assembly hall and centrally located rooms for staff functions, work will now be even more efficient and innovative in a future-proof environment.

With an area of over 3,000 square metres and a height of twelve metres, the new warehouse accommodates thousands of pallet locations. The storage capacity has been quadrupled and is equipped with modern, semi-automatic Kardex systems, which are supposed to enable efficient and ergonomic working. The 130 metre long and 28 metre wide assembly hall should enable even more efficient handling of large projects. Five overhead cranes will also facilitate the assembly of heavy components. The hall also houses an “Innovation Centre” and the “Experience Centre”.

A measuring room for quality control was set up in a central location between the warehouse and assembly hall. State-of-the-art measuring equipment is used here to ensure the highest quality standards. The next expansion phases of the Vekoma Campus will include an office with around 250 workspaces, modern meeting and project rooms as well as a restaurant. Furthermore, a new factory is also to be built. ■
