Floating Wave Awards Construction Contract for Surf Spot in Hamburg
(eap) Germany’s Floating Wave Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, which has developed an artificial surf spot concept and is going to realize this for the first time in Hambug (c.f. EAP news of 05 March 2025), has commissioned MEYER Floating Solutions (part of the MEYER shipbuilding group) with the construction of the surf platform following the successful conclusion of its latest financing round. The project is now in the final approval phase.

The Hamburg project is just the beginning for Floating Wave: The concept has been developed for worldwide implementation in urban port areas and coastal tourism destinations. “Our goal is to efficiently meet the global demand for urban surf spots together with MEYER Floating Solutions,” says Segebrecht.
The new artificial surf spot in Hamburg’s fishing port is scheduled for completion in 2026. ■
