France: Babyland-Amiland Changes Its Name to Winnoland
After the family theme park Babyland-Amiland, located near Paris in Saint-Pierre-du-Perray (Île-de-France region), was able to open a new attraction this year with “Le Ptéranodon” and set a new visitor record with 230,000 guests, the company will operate under the name Winnoland as of now.
Founded in 1987 as SARL BABYLAND, the company had focused on a very young target group in its early days. With the entry of Geoffry Lapère, son of the founders Alexandra and Xavier Lapère, into the management of the family business a few years ago, the expansion of the park with new attractions such as a pirate ship, a spinning coaster and Le Ptéranodon began to attract older kids and teenagers as well as their companions as well. At the end of the 2022 season, the Lapère family now decided to transform the company into SAS Winnoland in order to do justice to the expanded target group in its name as well. In the future, the park wants to focus more on further investments and put a special emphasis on theming. As part of the renaming, the mascot “Winno” was also given a new look – he, too, is intended to appeal to the target group with a more youthful appearance – and is to be integrated into other attractions in the future to accompany guests during their visit to the park.
