France: Disneyland Paris Celebrates Reopening of “Phantom Manor“ Dark Ride
Today sees the reopening of Disneyland Paris’ redesigned “Phantom Manor” dark ride, which is located in the “Frontierland” area at Disneyland Park and has been forming part of the park’s visitor offer since 1992. The attraction was closed in early 2018 in order to carry out major renovation works, including the redesign of existing scenes by adding new special effects, animatronic figures and a new audio system. The attraction, which tells the tragic story of a phantom and his bride, can now also be experienced in English language, besides French.
“Phantom Manor” is based on the original “Haunted Mansion” concept developed by Walt Disney and the Disney Imagineers in 1969 that was turned in similar attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Orlando/Florida), Disneyland Park (Anaheim/California) and Tokyo Disneyland (Japan). (eap)
