France: Disneyland Paris Reveals Firs Details on “Frozen“ Themed Area

In late 2019, Disneyland Paris announced that it was planning its own themed area based on the Disney animation success “Frozen. Now the European Disney destination has revealed the first details in time with the start of the area’s construction: the highlight of the zone will of course be, how could it be otherwise, the ice palace of “Elsa”, which will be atop on a snow-covered, almost 40-meter-high (131 feet) hill above the area, into which a three-hectare-large lake will also be integrated. The Nordic-inspired architecture hides themed stores and F&B offerings behind the facades – for young and young-at-heart fans, character meet-and-greets with “Anna”, “Elsa” and “Olaf” the snowman are of course also planned. A new family attraction, for which no details are known at this time, and a new restaurant with 250 seats and a view over the lake are also to be built on the park-like grounds.

“Since its release in 2013, Frozen has been one of our Guests’ favourite stories. With the start of the works related to this new area, along with the beautiful lakefront promenade which will lead to it, we are delighted to continue the expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park. We are leveraging all the creativity and expertise of our Walt Disney Imagineering teams – whether in Paris and elsewhere – along with local craftsmanship to bring Arendelle to life. This is bound to be an experience that will make our Guests’ hearts melt!” said David Wilson, Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. (eap)
