France: First Film Production by Puy du Fou Available Soon

After the French company only launched its own video game in June this year, there is now the first film produced by Puy du Fou, which will soon be shown to French audiences. As part of an exclusive preview, the documentary film “Vaincre ou Mourir” (Eng.: Defeat or Die) will be shown in selected cinemas on 8^th December 2022. Based on the “Le Dernier Panache” attraction opened at the Puy du Fou theme park in 2016, the film tells the story of the life of François Athanase Charette de la Conttrie, a French naval officer and a member of the “Catholic and Royal Army” in the Vendée uprising at the end of the 18^th century.

Puy du Fou sets, 60,000 costumes, 230 show horses and a pool of thousands of artists and stuntmen were used to create the film. The nationwide release of the film, directed by Paul Mignot and Vincent Mottez and based on an original idea by Puy du Fou president Nicolas de Villiers, is scheduled for 25^th January 2023. The film will be distributed by Studiocanal and is scheduled to air on Canal+ group channels. (eap)
