France: Futuroscope’s KinéMAX Entices Visitors with New IMAX Laser Technology
Since 9 April, the rock crystal-like building KinéMAX in the French theme park Futuroscope has been treating park visitors to a new XXL cinema experience. Recently, the existing pavilion was updated with a brand-new IMAX 4K laser projection system, which offers a precise sharpness in its image and sound technology. On a 600-square metre screen the new BBC Earth documentary entitled “Tiny Giants” (French: “La loi du plus fort”), a 20-minute adventure in which a chipmunk in the forests of North America and a mice in the Arizonian desert play the leading roles. The animals appear in humanlike size on the screen so that the audience can immerse in the fight of survival of the main characters against their natural enemies. By using specially designed glasses, visitors can enjoy an exclusive cinematic experience. The park invested around 1.5 million Euro in the state-of-the-art IMAX 4K laser technology, converted the 470-seat cinema and commissioned the atelier David Joulin (ADJ Architecte) to re-design the interior setting of the pavilion in a metallic structure to match the exterior design of the building.
