France: Futuroscope Celebrates Successful Summer Season
With 560,000 visitors in the months of July and August, of which 340,000 came in August alone, France’s Futuroscope theme park is pleased with a highly successful summer season. The month of August brought an increase of visitors of more than ten percent compared to the previous-year period, in addition to this, the park set up a new visitor record for a single day of 18,481 guests on 13 August, breaking the record the park held since the year of 2000. “This summer the park has welcomed more families (+ 11%), including a noticeable stronger presence of small children. Obviously, our kids city ‘Futuropolis’, the new outdoor play area for kids under ten years old, has found a positive response!” explains Rodolphe Bouin, Chairman of the Management Board of Futuroscope.
The increase in visitor numbers comes along with greater visitor satisfaction thanks to the amenities provided to pamper visitors (distribution of beverages in the queue lines, refreshing sprayers, etc.), it is stated. “Nowadays it’s the little things that matter, they make the difference … one of our principles is to treat our visitors as if they were the first of the season,” says Bouin. “Our visitors appreciate our park for its versatile outdoor offerings with shows such as ‘Aquajump’ and air-conditioned indoor attractions, which ensure that people can enjoy a great family experience, regardless of the weather conditions. This diversity, at a time when the summer weather varies from heat to rain at some days, is an asset of Futuroscope,” explains Bouin. (eap)
