France: New Show „Mickey and the Wizard“ on Stage at Disneyland Paris
Beginning on July 2nd this year, Disneyland Paris will present its new stage show “Mickey and the Wizard” (Fr.: “Mickey et le Magicien”) to visitors, which narrows the story of Mickey as a wizard apprentice discovering fascinating subjects that become “alive”. In this way, Mickey encounters figures out from “Cinderella”, “The Beauty and the Beast”, “The Lion King”, “Aladdin” and “Frozen”. For the creation of the conceptual design of the show, Disneyland Paris has been inspired by the illusionist Georges Méliès and the magician Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin. In partnership with the illusionist Paul Kieve they put the show into practice. “It is just impossible not to think about magic in relation to Disney. Since I’ve been ten years old I feel enthusiastic about magic and I’ve been playing with some ideas. It is amazing that I can realize many of these in ‘Mickey and the Wizard’,” commented Kieve. During the 20-minute stage program duration that will be performed several times a day, the audience will be surprised by newly interpreted film music of the Disney classics. Furthermore, a completely new piece of music has been composed for the show. Visitors can enjoy the stage programm free of charge until January 8th, 2017, at the Animagique® theatre at Disneyland Paris. (eap)
