France: Plage au Cirque – New Summer Show at Futuroscope

Until 28 August, the new stage show “Plage au Cirque” will provide summer vibes for guests of Futuroscope. The entertainment show, produced especially for the French theme park and performed three times per day for 20 minutes per show in the park’s outdoor area, combines acrobatics, dance, stunts and music. A total of 13 performers transform the stage into a seaside resort setting, in front of which they stage – with a humorous touch – typical vacation situations that everyone in the audience can relate to. In addition to theatrical and funny scenes, the acts also delight the audience with breath-taking circus performances on stage. Since 1993, Montréal-based Cirque Éloize, which produced the show for Futuroscope, has been known for its spectacular acrobatic shows that have thrilled audiences beyond Canada’s borders. More than five million spectators in over 600 cities in 57 countries around the world have been attracted by the company’s creations so far.

“We are extremely proud of this first collaboration with Futuroscope. It has allowed us to push the limits of our creativity by designing an entertainment experience that is funny, poetic, and meaningful. This new show features the expertise developed by Cirque Éloize over the years, including high-level acts and an original and unpredictable story of celebration and unity,” says Jeannot Painchaud, President and Chief Creative Officer of Cirque Éloize.

In addition to the acting performances, the stage technology used also plays a role in making the experience perfect: Here, a 300-square meter stage with a 260-square meter printed backdrop as well as a custom-designed aerial anchor point to present acts in six meters height above the ground are used. Thanks to its popular theme, the show is accessible to all ages and groups of people and is thus aimed at a wide audience.

By the way, learn all about the new world-class attraction “Chasseurs de Tornades” that Futuroscope has been thrilling its visitors with since this summer in our next magazine issue, which will be published on 1 September. (eap)
