France: Positive 2021 Results for Parc Spirou & New Theme Area Featuring Two Attractions for Next Year
Despite the pandemic and a related seasonal delay of about two months, Parc Spirou, located in the south of France, can be pleased about a successful summer and draw a positive balance for 2021. Not only were visitor numbers up compared to the previous season, but revenues also showed an increase compared to 2020. From 12 June to 7 November, a total of 205,000 visitors came to the park, an increase by 40 percent over the previous season. Since the relatively new park opened back in 2018, it has recorded more than 750,000 visitors.
For the upcoming season, the creation of a new themed area was recently announced, in which a total of three million euros will be invested. Two new attractions will be the highlight of the 4,000-square meter area – a Disk’O Coaster from Zamperla and a water playground from AquaProUrba. The theming of the new area will focus on the computer game and gamer parodies of “Kid Paddle” and “Game Over” by Belgian comic book artist Midam, in collaboration with whom the concept for the new themed area was created. The season at Parc Spirou is scheduled to start on 9 April 2022. (eap)
