France: Successful Summer for Futuroscope

A new visitor record was recently set at France’s theme park Futoroscope, located in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou. With a total of 16,243 guests on Wednesday, August 12 the previous record, set at a weekend of May this year, was broken. In addition to that, the park currently registers a very satisfactory season with its most successful summer since year 2000. Up to now, 600,000 people have visited Futuroscope which exceeds the previous-year period’s attendance figure with around 100,000 more guests. Especially families with children are delighted by the park’s attractions and shows. The new attractions “L’Arena Fun Xperiences“, ”Les Apprentis Pompiers“ and the live show “Les Mystères du Kube“ (cf. EAP News from April 27, 2015) made their contribution to an increase in turnover figures of 20 percent compared to last summer’s figures. Furthermore, the dark ride and Thea Award winner “La Machine à Voyager dans Le Temps” (cf. EAP, issue 2/2015) is still very popular with the guests. (eap)
