France/Netherlands: Puy du Fou and Efteling Start Six-Year Cooperation for Show Performances
The two theme parks Puy du Fou and Efteling have renewed their cooperation in the field of show production for the next six years. Together, the two companies will create the new edition of the “Raveleijn” show, which is based on a story written by children’s book author Paul van Loon. It was premiered at Efteling in 2011 and saw a complete makeover in 2013, already in partnership with the Puy du Fou show experts. As of April this year, “Raveleijn” will be performed by a French-Dutch ensemble of artists, stuntmen, equestrians and falconers, telling the story of five children who are turned into knights to free the medieval city of Reveleijn from a malicious ruler.
“We always seek to work with the best in the field. For the live show, our decision to work with Puy du Fou was an obvious one. Their artistic excellence will help us promote this show even better to the world stage,” says Fons Jurgens, CEO of Efteling.
“Puy du Fou is the inventor of an artistic model that calls upon the popular imagination in a celebration of the very soul of people. Efteling is part of the Netherlands’ heritage and we shall be putting all our energy into reinforcing this spectacular and emotional celebration of the Dutch tale,” comments Nicolas de Villiers, President of Puy du Fou.
