Franceen Gonzales Becomes Park President of LEGOLAND Florida
(eap) After around eleven years in responsible positions at Canadian water attraction manufacturer WhiteWater West, Chief Experience Officer Franceen Gonzales takes on a new function at LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Winter Haven. She will assume the role of Park President at the Merlin Entertainments-operated destination, overseeing all operations for Legoland Florida including the water park, the neighbouring Peppa Pig theme park and the associated hotels and accommodation facilities.
Gonzales has more than 30 years of experience in the international leisure industry, both on the supplier and park operations side. Prior to joining WhiteWater, she served as Vice President of Risk Management for the indoor waterpark chain Great Wolf Resorts (USA), and before that as Park Director of Six Flags Great Adventure’s Hurricane Harbor waterpark in New Jersey. Franceen Gonzales is also recognized as an expert in technical safety norms and standards at a global level. As such, she was recently invited by the European Waterpark Association to hold an online seminar on the topic of “Integrating Safety Standards in Water Park Operation”.
Franceen Gonzales is looking forward to her new professional chapter in Florida with wistful anticipation. On social media she commented: “Thanks everyone! WhiteWater is an amazing, entrepreneurial company and it was very hard to leave after nearly eleven years. Geoff Chutter is one of the most inspiring leaders who helped me to ‘stretch’ and grow in so many ways. Now it’s time for a new adventure with a dynamic company like Merlin Entertainments and LEGOLAND. The team here at LEGOLAND Florida Resort are real pros and it will be quite fun working with them.” ■
