GB: Alton Towers Resort Announces Collaboration With Children’s Book Author David Walliams
England‘s Alton Towers Resort just announced the collaboration with comedian, actor and children’s book author David Walliams for 2020, the year of the resort‘s 40th anniversary. For 2020 numerous attractions will be developed with the creative team of Merlin Magic Making, which will be located around the “Cloud Cuckoo Land“, on all of the resort‘s grounds and the resort hotels. Walliams successfully writes children’s books since 2008 creating characters like “Gansta Granny“, “Awful Auntie“ and “the slightly annoying elefant“ for the young readership. Together with the author and HarperCollins Children’s Books publishing, Alton Towers will create a visitor experience, which will bring several characters to life.
“It’s a huge thrill for some of my characters to be getting their own attractions at Alton Towers. I can’t wait to experience them for myself, and from all the work that has gone in I think people are going to love it. All will be revealed next year,“ comments Walliams. James Walker, Marketing Director at Alton Towers, explains: “David’s books have really captured the imagination of Britain’s children and their families. So it’s a huge honour to be working with David on this fabulous collaboration for 2020, the year in which we celebrate our 40th birthday […].“ (eap)
