GB: Moonraker VFX Presents “Moonbase: The Next Step“ Movie Experience
Bristol-based Moonraker VFX, who specialises in the production of CGI content and visual effects, has now announced its first original film “Moonbase: The Next Step“, which will be launched this summer as an immersive 4D fulldome experience for planetariums. Moonraker already announced the production of this film experience during IEE 2021 in Barcelona (read also our trade fair report here). The Moonbase movie will take viewers to the surface of the moon and illustrate its scale and hostile environment.
Simon Clarke, Co-founder and Creative Director of Moonraker, commented: “As a studio, we’ve thrived on the creative challenge that comes with breaking into a new market. Combining the two elements of cinematic visuals and the dome screen can be incredibly powerful – not only enhancing the storytelling experience but immersing visitors in breathtaking worlds of astronomy and planetary science that feel almost tangible. We’re looking forward to stretching the boundaries of what’s possible in this space.“ Jon Grafton, Co-founder and Managing Director of Moonraker, adds: “This is an incredibly exciting milestone for the business and having the ability to create our own licensable content is a core part of a growth strategy.“
While this project will be produced for planetarium audiences, Moonraker is already planning spin-offs in other formats, to include television, AR and flying theatres. (eap)
