GB: New Showtown Entertainment Museum in Blackpool to Open in 2023
In the beach resort of Blackpool on the west coast of Great Britain, fun and entertainment is part of the town‘s tradition. The town is best known for the Blackpool Pleasure Beach theme park, in the vicinity of which a new visitor attraction is now to be developed. In the new Showtown museum, for which construction has now begun and which, according to current plans, is to open in April 2023, guests will be able to receive an insight into the entertainment tradition of the coastal town through around 800 exhibits. The museum, which will be located on the ground floor of the Sands Venue Resort Hotel & Spa, will be dedicated to the themes of seaside holidays, circus, illuminations, magic and dance in six areas.
The new visitor experience will be operated by the Cool Silk Property and Investment real estate company, which is also responsible for the hotel operation. The hotel, which opened in 2010, is currently being refurbished and is set to become the first 5-star hotel in Blackpool. When completed, it will include 91 luxurious rooms and penthouses, restaurants, a spa, conference rooms, a Wild West diner and a cocktail bar. (eap)
