GB: Walk the Big One XL – Going Up High at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Based on the already existing visitor offer “Walk the Big One“ – a guided tour up the lift hill of the roller coaster “The Big One” – Blackpool Pleasure Beach now announced the introduction of the new experience ”Walk the Big One XL”. In addition to the obligatory climb of the 420 steps up to the highest point of the ride, visitors now climb two further points within the track layout, from where a great view over the seaside resort of Blackpool can be enjoyed. During the XL tour, which is led by members of the maintenance team, guests are also given a look inside the roller coaster’s maintenance rooms.

Andy Hygate, Director of Operations at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, comments, “The original Walk The Big One and Walk The Woodie events have been hugely successful so we wanted to develop a new experience to build on these and offer something completely new. Walk The Big One XL will take our guests to parts of the ride they will never have been to before, and experience unique views of the ride and surrounding areas. Having tried the walk myself, I can definitely say that it’s something that all fans of Blackpool Pleasure Beach will love to take part in.” Participants of the event, which costs 150 pounds (approx. 179 euros) per person, must be at least twelve years old and have a minimum height of 1.32 metres.
