German Center Parcs Holiday Parks Reopen

After the holiday parks of the Center Parcs brand in Germany had to close for eight months due to Covid-19, the first facilities were able to reopen to visitors at the end of this month. Park Nordseeküste was the first to open on 21 May, followed by the parks Bispinger Heide, Park Hochsauerland and Park Eifel yesterday. Parks Allgäu and Bostalsee (Saarland) will reopen their gates for visitors next Monday (31 May).

All guests must present a negative PCR test. A hygiene and health concept developed by the parks, which complies with legal requirements, is intended to ensure safe operation. Nevertheless, the operation of the parks is subject to the current incidence rate – if the rate exceeds 100 per 100,000 inhabitants, the parks will have to close again. Thanks to an “all-round carefree offer”, guests have the option of flexibly arranging their stay and, if they wish, rebooking up to 21 days before arrival.

The holiday park provider is investing more than 700 million euros in the renewal of the parks’ central facilities and accommodation offers. So far, eight of the total of 28 facilities have been completely renovated. These include the Hochsauerland and Nordseeküste parks in Germany. All German facilities are scheduled to have been renovated by 2023. In addition, the French Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs operating group recently unveiled its “Reinvention 2025” strategic plan, which will see an additional investment of around 258 million euros in the brand’s holiday parks (cp.
