Germany: Architects Present First Renovation Plans for Bremen’s Horner Outdoor Swimming Pool Complex
Bremer Bäder GmbH, operator of several bathing complexes, recently announced that architects presented first renovation plans for the modernization of the Horner Outdoor Swimming Pool Compex, located in the German city of Bremen.
Architect Brigitte Bahlmann-Henckel of the janssen baer partnerschaft mbH office and her colleague, Niels Blatt, from the Bremen-based Horeis + Blatt office, explained the renovation plans: The toddler’s area will see a new paddling pool with approx. 98 square meters of water surface, a fountain area, a toddler’s slide and a sun sail cover. Furthermore, the swimming area will feature a multifunctional pool with a water surface of approx. 935 square meters. This includes three swim lanes of 50 meters length each, five swim lines with 25 meters length each and starting blocks as well as an area for non-swimmers. The already existing family water slide will be integrated in the renovated bathing complex. In addition, the offer for families will include a new playground.
Bremen Bäder GmbH plans to submit the building permit application by this winter to start construction works in summer 2017. (eap)
