Germany: By TGV from Paris to Europa-Park
Since mid-December, Europa-Park has been directly accessible by TGV for French guests – who already account for more than 20 percent of the Europa-Park Resort’s visitor volume. The TGV INOUI departs from Paris Gare de l’Est via the Champagne-Ardenne region, Lorraine and Strasbourg, among others, and finally ends its journey in Freiburg after the stop “Ringsheim/Europa-Park”. Europa-Park Resort can thus be reached daily (twice daily on Fridays and Saturdays) from Paris within 2 hours 37 minutes.
The managing partners of Europa-Park Roland, Jürgen and Michael Mack as well as Pascal Weber, mayor of Ringsheim and mascot “Ed Euromaus” welcomed one of the first high-speed trains at the platform of Ringsheim.
According to Roland Mack, about 45 percent of the guests are willing to switch from car to rail in case of a transport connection, which corresponds to a potential passenger volume of about 2.5 million visitors per year. “For Europa-Park, a resilient and future-oriented transport infrastructure plays a central role. As Germany’s largest theme park and one of the most important beacons of tourism, we depend on our visitors reaching Europa-Park, the Europa-Park Hotel Resort and the Water World Rulantica as comfortably as possible and without major delays. The creation of a long-distance stop in Ringsheim is of similar importance to me as the junction on the A5. In addition, this rail connection is a first-class sustainability project. [...]”.
“It is nice to see that we have an increasingly strong connection to our French neighbors. This fills me with great gratitude and joy, especially as Honorary Consul of the Republic of France. With this stop, Europa-Park is also carried a bit more into the heart of France,” Michael Mack adds.
Mayor Pascal Weber added: “We are of course very pleased that our small municipality may now, after the ECE [see EAP-News v. 4.6.21], also welcomes the TGV regularly in Ringsheim. Another step in tourism development, but also an important sustainable strengthening of our train station, so that it also becomes more and more attractive for local traffic and more local trains for tourists and commuters stop in Ringsheim/Europa-Park.
