This afternoon will see the opening of the new play and climbing facility “AVENTURA – Der SpielBerg in Medebach” at Center Parcs Hochsauerland, located in Germany. However, the attraction is not directly situated in the park but at the city of Medebach’s Bromberg hill which can be reached within a several minutes walk from the park. Construction works, conducted by Germany-based Berliner Seilfabrik, took about five months. According to Center Parcs Hoschsauerland a total length of 160 meters makes AVENTURA the longest one-piece playing device in Europe. Therefore the park, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year (cf. EAP News from July 1, 2014), hopes for a “Guinness Book of Records” entry. The 700,000 euro attraction features towers, bridges, slides and ropes as well as a height difference of 32 meters, offering fun for families with children aged five and older. Younger children from the age of three years have the possibility to play in a separate area. Additional recreation areas can be found as well. The new climbing facility is not only accessible for guests to Center Parcs Hochsauerland but also for Medebach’s visitors and citizens. (eap)
