Germany: Cologne Chocolate Museum Celebrates 25th Anniversary
For 25 years now, Cologne Chocolate Museum (G.: Schokoladenmuseum Köln) has treated chocolate lovers with a versatile exhibition about the cocoa bean and the products obtained from it. From its opening in 1993 to the present day, the museum, which is managed in the second generation by Annette Imhoff and her husband Dr. Christian Unterberg-Imhoff, has welcomed around 14 million visitors. Since 2006, the museum has been exclusively cooperating with Swiss chocolate manufacturer Lindt & Sprüngli.
In its anniversary year, the museum received a new logo and a modern lighting concept (developed by a•g Licht), which lets the building complex on the Rhine banks shine by night. Today (Wednesday), the museum will celebrate its anniversary with a festive gala. From tomorrow until this Sunday, Nov 4th, visitors will be able to enjoy a versatile “birthday program” with chocolate manufacturers and artists who create sculptures made of chocolate.
Another highlight will be the “Chocolatiers’ Market” on the forecourt of the Chocolate Museum in mid-November (14th-18th): Some 70 chocolatiers from Germany and abroad will present their craftsmanship and guests can taste some delicious chocolate compositions. (eap)
