Germany: Comprehensive Expansion Plans for Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal
During a press conference, Robert Dahl, CEO and owner of Germany’s Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer, today announced comprehensive expansion plans for Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal, which is located close to Berlin: Starting in 2019, construction works will begin to create a “strawberry theme land” including a family resort with more than 2,000 beds in several themed hotels such as tree houses, a beehive or shepherd wagons.
On an area of some 71 hectares there will be a “strawberry promenade” adjacent to a lake with Baltic Sea sand and a strawberry cableway connecting the existing Erlebnis-Dorf with the new resort. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to additional factories such as a jelly bears factory, a cheese dairy, a brewery as well as a bakery for dogs’ cookies. Production is carried out in front of the eyes of the visitors, so they can learn more about food and nutrition. Several attractions and a gastronomic offer round off the concept. The investment volume amounts to a total of around hundred million Euros. This year, local authorities will consider the plans to grant the building permit. (eap)
