Frank Daemen, General Manager at Center Parcs Germany and Board Member at Center Parcs Europe, and Hans-Jörg Henle, mayor of Leutkirch in the German region Allgäu, informed yesterday together with a team of experts the residents of Leutkirch and its surroundings about the construction project of the Allgäu Park, which volume of investment is estimated to be around 255 million Euros (we reported in EAP-news from December 14th, 2015). Throughout the evening Center Parcs announced that the company Groupe La Française will finance the construction of 250 holiday homes in addition to the planned 750 homes, as well as a separate spa and wellness oasis. From the park’s expansion results the aim to open at the end of 2018 with 1000 houses, the central building of approx. 20,500 square metres and the separate spa and wellness area.
“The great interest of the population in Center Parcs and in the new holiday park is overwhelming,” said Frank Daemen. “The persons present asked extensive questions regarding the construction project and showed a great interest in the construction tender as well as in later job opportunities at the Allgäu Park.” In 2009 a 95.1 percent of the residents (of a participation of more than 70 percent) decided in a local referendum in favour of the construction of the Center Parc’s park. The first cut of the spade should be made in autumn 2017 and the celebration of the opening is scheduled to take place at the end of 2018. (eap)
