Germany: Dr. Klaus Lipinsky passed away

Dr. Klaus Lipinsky is dead. On April 22, 2020, the managing owner of the Preventus Zukunftsmanagement Gesellschaft in Berlin passed away at the age of 69 after a brief illness. Lipinsky, who had previously been CEO of the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe for twelve years until 2013 and thus managed Europe's largest municipal swimming pool company with 62 indoor, combined and outdoor pools, was a Berliner at heart and was, among other things, also involved as deputy chairman of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für das Badewesen (German association of municipal pools) for several years. His career began - after study and graduation at the Technical University of Berlin – first in the research promotion department of the Berlin Senate Administration before he took over a leading position at the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (Berlin Transportation Services) and changed to the swimming pool industry in 2001. Since 2014, Dr. Klaus Lipinsky had been a member of the advisory board of supporting members of the European Waterpark Association (EWA), of which he was a spokesman until the end. Lipinsky was known and loved in the spa industry mainly for his solution-oriented approach and competence. A person who was also popular because of his inspiring and life-affirming manner. Optimistic, dialogue-seeking and helpful were characteristics that distinguished him and also made him an excellent mediator.

His death leaves a noticeable gap for all who knew him. Dr. Klaus Lipinsky leaves behind his wife and son. The spa industry mourns his passing in honorable memory with his family and friends. (eap)
