Germany: First Family Ride at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal Opens Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Elstal near Berlin will launch its first rollercoaster and a row of other new attractions. “K2” is the name of the new family ride, the theming of which is dedicated to the production of potato crisps, carrying riders through the new “K2 – Potato Experience World” (G.: “K2 – Kartoffel-Erlebniswelt”) park area (cf. our report in EAP, 6/17). In a wooden two lorry-train, riders can experience the way of potatoes starting as a tuber on a field and finally ending up as delicious potato crisps. The journey also includes a “potato store room” as an underground dark ride section, before riders get up again to a max. track height of 24 meters. Karl’s first rollercoaster was delivered by Swiss manufacturer abc rides.

Besides the family ride, the new “K2 – Potato Experience World” features a glassy potato crisps manufactory and a restaurant, where guests can taste delicious potato dishes while kids can enjoy a new indoor playground area. Further novelties at Karls Elstal include a barrier-free carousel, a giant marble run, a big swing and an expanded go-kart-track.
