Germany: German Soccer Museum Presents „50 Years Wembley“
In due time for the 50th anniversary of the final soccer match between England and Germany in 1966, the German Football Museum (G.:“Deutsches Fußballmuseum”) presents the special exhibition “50 years Wembley – the Myth in Snapshots”. Starting on July 31st this year, the museum presents artful media installations created by Triad and partly unpublished photos of the eighth Football World Cup to soccer fans. Vize Champion Uwe Seeler and the DFB’s (Eng.: “German Soccer Alliance”) President Reinhard Grindel announced to participate personally in the exhibition’s opening. “[…] Uwe Seeler animated us to bring the ‘Wembley’ myth to life in a special exhibition. With the sport photography’s artful black-white aesthetics of the sixties and spectacular media installations we take a look back on the century final,” said Manuel Neukirchner, Director of the German Football Museum. In addition to the special exhibition, which will be open for visitors until January 15th, 2017, the museum offers adventure tours featuring the relationship between German and English soccer, which includes a ball filled with cork.
