Germany: Jochen Schweizer Group of Companies Sells its Digital Division
At a transaction value of some 108 million Euros, entrepreneur Jochen Schweizer sells the majority of the Jochen Schweizer GmbH company – and in this way the digital division of the Jochen Schweizer Group of Companies – to Germany’s media group ProSiebenSat.1. The corporation will merge with mydays GmbH to form the Jochen Schweizer mydays Holding GmbH, of which ProSiebenSat.1 will hold a total of 90 percent. Jochen Schweizer will have a share of ten percent. “My objective is to enthuse people with experiences. This transaction allows a more rapid growth of the digital business and gives me the freedom to independently decide on new, outstanding projects such as the Jochen Schweizer Arena,” explained Jochen Schweizer.
In March the entrepreneur opened the Jochen Schweizer Arena in the Munich area as his first location-based destination where visitors can experience the Jochen Schweizer brand, a second site is already planned (c.f. EAP, 1/17 & EAP news from March 4th, 2017). Complementing the existing indoor offerings (surfing and flying), July 15th will see the opening of the outdoor area, including a Skytrail course, a Sky Jump facility, an abseil station and Schweizer’s Flying Fox attraction. Plans for the future foresee the addition of a hotel complex with a congress center. Furthermore, the existing conference center will be expanded. (eap)
