Germany: Jörn Kemmener, Operations Manager of the Atoll Leisure Pool, Passed away

On August 6, 2021 – after a tragical accident – Jörn Kemmener passed away at the age of only 48. Kemmener (born 1973) had only returned to the Atoll leisure pool operated by Aquapark Management in Espelkamp, North Rhine-Westphalia, as operations manager at the beginning of this year. Kemmener, who always regarded his professional activity as a matter of the heart, was not only a proven pool expert, but above all respected and acclaimed by the staff. A friendly and active person, his sudden death caused deep shock, especially among his employees. “Jörn Kemmener carried responsibility at Freizeitbad Atoll for many years and worked with energy and commitment for the further development of the leisure pool. With his empathetic and reliable manner, he had earned recognition and deep respect from both the employees of the leisure pool and the city of Espelkamp. We will miss him very much,” says Managing Director Philipp Quell, visibly affected.

The family father leaves behind his wife and two children. The waterpark and pool industry mourns with the family an experienced and popular person and colleague. (eap)
