Germany: Karls Acquires Land for First Site in Lower Saxony
Robert Dahl, founder and CEO of Karls, has acquired a plot of land in the district of Cuxhaven and is planning to build the first Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Lower Saxony there. This would mark the ninth Karls location, following the four existing destinations on the Baltic Sea coast, the existing one in Elstal near Berlin, and the three currently in planning for Oberhausen in the Ruhr region, in Döbeln (Saxony) and Plech in Upper Franconia. This brings the entrepreneur Dahl a step closer to his vision of offering every child in Germany the strawberry farm experience within a 1.5 hours’ drive.
The future location in Lower Saxony is located on the city boundary of Bremerhaven, not far from the A27 highway, and will thus be quickly accessible for many visitors. “Our fans have often asked us for a location in Lower Saxony. When we first saw the property, it didn’t even take us 30 minutes to understand that the location between Bremen, Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven is perfect to locate Karls here,“ comments Robert Dahl on the choice. As it is usual for the Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer, a manufactory market, a restaurant and various attractions are planned for the village in Lower Saxony. Completion of the “strawberry village” is still not scheduled; first of all, further preparation, planning and the construction start must be tackled. (eap)
