Germany: Maurer Rides Presents New „Spike® Signature Tower” Ride Concept
Based on the technology of its “Spike®” coaster, Munich-based roller coaster manufacturer Maurer Rides has developed the “Signature Tower”, a new ride concept designed to merge brand and experience. On a small footprint of 25 x 10 meters, any track layout, e.g. in the form of a lettering or brand logo, can be implemented. The concept envisages a track height of 30 meters, but according to the manufacturer this is scalable. The cars on the Signature Tower (four in total) are electrically driven like the Spike coaster cars, so there is no need to integrate lift or launch sections in the track layout. Passengers can interactively control the speed of their car themselves and reach a maximum of up to 40 km/h – this is how the ride is to attract the family audience in particular, despite its height. The hourly capacity of the Signature Tower is 400 pph, according to the manufacturer.
“Signature Towers make their mark: in landscape, in design, in recognizability. Every company gets its very own distinctive tower with color and lighting concept,” explains Maurer managing director Jörg Beutler. Especially at night a Signature Tower could be especially eye-catching if staged by a fitting lighting concept. (eap)
