(eap) The Plopsa Indoor Hasselt amusement park, which opened its doors for the first time on 24 December 2005, recently reached the five million visitor mark. Another milestone for the park, which counts some 25 attractions – all themed with popular Studio 100 characters – for children aged two to ten. On average, around 250,000 guests visit the park every year.

As the five millionth visitor, a family from the Netherlands was ceremoniously welcomed by park mascot “Kabouter Klus” and surprised with a gift pack full of Plopsa souvenirs and a family pass for Plopsa Indoor Hasselt.

“Welcoming our five millionth visitor is an important milestone for our park,” enthuses park manager Laurens Swerts. “It shows that Plopsa Indoor Hasselt is a favourite destination for families. We will continue to strive to create magical moments for young and old, especially in the new year 2025, as we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary with numerous festivities and events throughout the year. I am very much looking forward to enjoying the programme together with our visitors.” Steven Vandeput, Mayor of the city of Hasselt, added: “Plopsa Indoor Hasselt has been a fixture in our city for almost 20 years and contributes enormously to the attractiveness of Hasselt as a family-friendly destination.”

On 22 February, Plopsa Indoor Hasselt will kick off its anniversary season with a new Clown Bumba show. Find out what other European amusement and theme parks are planning to surprise their visitors with this year in the EAP Park Report, which will be published in our upcoming March/April issue. ■
