Plopsa Satisfied with This Year’s Summer Season
(eap) The Plopsa Group is very satisfied with this year’s visitor numbers at its Belgian parks Plopsaland de Panne and Plopsa Coo Ardennes. According to the company, Plopsaland de Panne had an exceptionally successful summer with a seven percent increase in attendance compared to the previous year. This increase is said to be partly due to the “Studio 100 Festival”, which will continue until the end of the Belgian Crocus (spring) vacations next year. The park’s own water park Plopsaqua also benefitted from the successful season and was able to achieve stable visitor numbers, according to the group. The Plopsaland Theater Hotel, Plopsaland Resort’s four-star superior hotel, recorded a growth in overnight stays of 34 percent compared to 2023, with a record occupancy rate of 94 percent in August.
The shows at Studio 100 Theater De Panne also attracted a large audience. While the fairy-tale musical “Snow White” was attended by 45,400 guests, the new “ZomerRevue” show with the entertainers James Cooke and Gert Verhulst has so far welcomed more than 17,000 spectators. Thanks to an investment in new LED screens, the theatre is now even more suitable for the presentation of large shows. The new Plopsaland Village with 55 cottage-style villas is due to open at the end of this year. According to Plopsa, the new accommodation option is expected to be completely sold out over the Christmas period.
Besides Plopsaland Resort, Plopsa Coo Ardennes also recorded an attendance growth. With a twelve percent increase in visitor numbers compared to last year, the park is proving to continue being a popular destination for families and groups of friends. “We have seen a significant increase in the number of visitors to our outdoor parks this summer and our accommodation has also performed particularly well. These positive figures give us plenty of energy for the fall. Looking ahead to Halloween and winter, we are looking forward to welcoming and surprising our visitors again,” says Carl Lenaerts, CEO of Plopsa. ■
