Germany: NRW's Theme Parks Announce First Opening Dates
With the new Corona Protection Regulation effective in the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, theme parks are finally allowed to reopen. Phantasialand already announced June 10 as the official start of the season today. In addition to the park, the theme hotels will also be available for overnight stays again. The park, which is located near Cologne, opened its world premiere “F.L.Y.”, a flying launch coaster from Vekoma, in the new “Rookburgh” themed area just last October (cf. EAP 1/2021). In addition, Phantasialand will be offering the new “Nobis” show experience in the 2021 season.
This Sunday, Safariland Stukenbrock will also start its long-awaited new season. Here, visitors have already been able to experience the car safari again since March 27. Fort Fun, located in the state’s Sauerland region, is planning its opening for June 3. A visit to the leisure facilities is, like so many leisure activities at the moment, tied to a negative Corona rapid test (not older than 24 hours), a complete vaccination or convalescent certificate as well as a previously purchased online ticked.
