Germany: New “Steampunk VR Scooter“ Experience at Schloss Thurn Draws Crowds

Visitors to Bavaria, Germany’s Erlebnispark Schloss Thurn are now able to try out the park’s new “Steampunk VR Scooter” experience, immersing themselves into a desert landscape of the Wild West (“Western Steampunk” design) where they can race against each other. For this new visitor offer, Schloss Thurn added VR technology to its existing bumper car attraction, working in partnership with Germany’s VR Coaster and Holodeck VR companies (cf. Park Report in EAP 2/19). This past Saturday, the park started into the new season unveiling the new experience to visitors.

“Steampunk VR Scooter” is already the second attraction at Schloss Thurn equipped with VR technology. In 2016, the park upgraded its existing family coaster with the sophisticated technology (cf. EAP 2/16) and as of this year, “Dinolino’s VR-Ride” features a new virtual adventure for riders. (eap)
