Germany: New High Ropes Course Projects & Generational Change in Management at faszinatour
After the Immenstadt, Bavaria-based faszinatour GmbH, which offers adventure park concepts, management consulting and teambuilding events, had completed a new outdoor high ropes course at the nearby Center Parcs Allgäu in Leutkirch at the end of 2021, a new “forest ropes course“ in Travemünde on the German Baltic Sea coast was also recently handed over to the operators – business partners Nick Moritz and Tillmann Liden. Under the name of “Kletterwald Travemünde“ (Travemünde Climbing Forest), the course designed for the whole family is scheduled to open at the beginning of May and to operate seasonally until the autumn months of each year as an additional leisure activity for local residents and tourists.
And there is also news beyond that at the Bavarian company: After more than 35 years, the faszinatour ADVENTURE & SPORTS division is handing over its outdoor centre in Haiming/Tyrol, where experiences such as rafting, canyoning and mountain biking are offered, to the Austrian Cankick GmbH. Likewise, after 35 years, there was a change at the company’s management level earlier this year: to ensure a solid future for the family business, faszinatour founder and managing director Werner Vetter (photo top, left) brought his son Tobias (29) into the company‘s management. The young entrepreneur focuses on a stronger orientation towards regionality and sustainability. The goal is to maintain a solid medium-sized company in the long run and to continue to create joy and sense for employees in their respective areas of responsibility. How the generational change in family-run small and medium-sized enterprises can succeed can be read in our special feature published in the current March/April issue of EAP. (eap)
