Germany: Operator of Leisure Facilities in Bottrop Establish “FunCity Bottrop” Network

The German city of Bottrop is the location of some supra-regional and popular leisure destinations such as Movie Park Germany or Schloss Beck family leisure park. To strengthen the city’s visibility in the leisure market in order to support smaller and medium-sized companies in the area as well, five leisure destinations of Bottrop (Movie Park Germany, Schloss Beck, alpincenter, Indoor Skydiving Bottrop and Grusellabyrinth NRW chamber of horrors) came together to establish the new “FunCity Bottrop” network in cooperation with the municipal business development.

This project is based on subsidies of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia with financial resources from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). A milestone in the realization of the project is the tender for a marketing concept to be developed by a consulting company. A first joint action is the current discount campaign of up to 25 percent for the admission to the participating facilities. The funding period for “FunCity Bottrop” is of two years. (eap)
