Germany: Playing Fun in Lummerland – New Adventure Playground at Filmpark Babelsberg
Under compliance with the hygiene measures already introduced during last year’s season, Filmpark Babelsberg will reopen on June 24th and will present visitors with an all new “Jim Button“-themed adventure playground. The new play area, which was created in cooperation with SIK-Holz, invites children as well as their parents to a journey through “Lummerland“. Numerous play and climbing structures such as the “volcano of Mrs. Grindtooth“, the “illusory giant’s desert parcours“ and the sliding and climbing parcours of the “seven wonder forest“ are dedicated to the beloved children’s story by Michael Ende. For the youngest visitors, a special area was developed with a miniature “Emma“ including a train station, a climbing structure and a water playground. The “real Emma“, a requisite from the Jim Button live action movie, which was produced at Babelsberg, will welcome guests at the entrance of the new playground.
Another novelty at Filmpark Babelsberg will be the “Mythos Babelsberg“ theme area, which is currently under development between the TV studio and the “Caligari Hall“. It will feature a film set tour and will show additional exhibits and background information about movie productions at Babelsberg. “During the next two years, new offers such as the Cine Fantastix will be developed as a new interactive tour […] It will become a great place for movie fans, to get closer to the history all about the Mythos Babelsberg,“ comments Malte Schatz, head of the operative division at Filmpark Babelsberg. Additionally, visitors will be able to enjoy again the variety of shows at the park. (eap)
