Germany: Regional Alliance Braunschweig / Wolfsburg is Developing „ErlebnisRegion 2020“

For more than one year, Wolfsburg AG and projekt Region Braunschweig GmbH have been committed to promoting a sustainable economic development within a regional alliance to better position the Wolfsburg region in national competition. The aim of this alliance is to develop a region with a high quality of life for the population and which is attractive to tourists by 2020. The project “Gemeinsam gestalten. ErlebnisRegion 2020” (Remodel together. AdventureRegion 2020) emerged from a partnership between tourism experts, representatives of the cities of Braunschweig, Salzgitter, Wolfsburg and of the Districts of Gifhorn, Goslar, Helmstedt, Peine, Wolfenbüttel as well as with the help of the community. One key element of the concept is to improve the quality of life and to increase the recreational value. To achieve this, existing recreational offers will be developed further and a number of new projects be set in motion.
