Germany: Shrink Yourself into Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg

Yesterday, after about one and a half years of planning and development, the new YULLBE attraction “YULLBE WUNDERLAND“ in Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg in cooperation with the Europa-Park and MackNeXT – read our news from 1 March 2022. “We have actually been dreaming of being able to shrink ourselves into Wunderland one day and experience this world ourselves as a 1:87 scale figure since the first Wunderland days. Until now, that was not possible. But thanks to Covid it is now,“ explains Wunderland founder Frederik Braun: “Of course, the last two years were tough for us with more than 1,500,000 visitors less than before. But at least we can take something good out of the time. We finally had time to rethink the Wunderland and really let off steam creatively. When we came across this new VR technology from Europa-Park, it completely knocked our socks off. For us, it was immediately clear that thanks to this technology, the disadvantage of our size could be overcome and we could become little residents to the Wunderland. So in the end, Pandemic made a dream come true for us,“ Braun continues.
As of today, visitors can now embark on a virtual discovery tour through the model railway worlds in two different experiences rooms. YULLBE WUNDERLAND GO offers the “Walkin in Wunderland“ 10-minute experience on 80 square metres, and YULLBE WUNDERLAND PRO offers “Die verrückte Schrumpftour“ (Eng.: The Crazy Shrink Tour), a full half-hour experience within a 250-square-metre area. In addition to the Wunderland content, other Europa-Park content will also be on offer.
“Whether it‘s 80 or 250 square metres doesn‘t really matter to the visitor. In virtual space, the boundaries of space and time become blurred. It‘s spectacular how you can trick the senses and give you the feeling of infinite space. For me, it‘s just magical. It feels like I can now walk through my imagination with full consciousness,“ Braun describes the attraction, in which a total of two million euros was invested. (eap)
