Germany: Simtec Receives Red Dot Design Award for ScreenFLITE®

For its “ScreenFLITE^®” product – an installation consisting of mobile LED displays to be used as an innovative communications platform (cf. EAP 6/2018) – Germany’s Simtec Systems company will receive the Red Dot Design Award 2019 in the category of “Product Design”. The official award ceremony will take place this July in the Aalto Theater in Essen. Initiated by Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen and the Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG company, the award is presented to companies for outstanding design annually in three categories, which are “Product Design”, “Brands & Communication Design” and “Design Concept”. This year, designers and manufacturers from more than 55 countries submitted their designs to the committee, over 5,500 products underwent the evaluation by the jury.

The first ScreenFLITE installation was implemented last year at the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport in Rome/Italy: Twelve LED displays with a size of two square meters each serve as a digital medium to attract people’s attention. (eap)
