Germany: The Pirates Are Back!

As of today, Europa-Park’s “Pirates in Batavia“ family dark ride experience is back and open to visitors – only 26 months after the disastrous fire, which destroyed the beloved ride completely.

During the eight-minute ride in the redesigned attraction, visitors follow Dutch pirate “Bartholomeus van Robbemond“ and his sidekick “Jopie“ on their adventures to find the “Dagger of Batavia“. The wooden boats, which are made for 16 persons each, float through the detailed sceneries where riders are able to immerse themselves into the world of Indonesian pirate villages. All scenes feature numerous original decoration elements as well as a variety of sound-, light- and scent effects.
